To that end, our client is looking for skilled Media Copy Editors (mid-level to senior) for a Contract2Hire engagement. These roles 40 hours a week, 100% remote, you can sit anywhere within the USA, hourly rate based on experience via W-2, healthcare benefits provided.
What You Will Do:
As Medical Copy Editor, you will be part of a growing editorial team at an innovative agency that produces materials for audiences comprising of patients and healthcare practitioners (HCP and ensures the scientific and editorial integrity of medical materials through attention to detail and applying superior editing and proofreading skills.
Reporting to the Editorial Manager, you will fact check all claims and statements against provided references, determine references are acceptable sources (e.g., published articles, chapters from published books, etc.) and obtains appropriate sources when necessary.
Check accuracy of all graphs, charts, and calculations, and verifies permissions and “adapted from” lines, check reference lists against hard copy references in the folder, review copy for comprehension and flow.
Ensure all boilerplate copy/components are included and in correct order, ensure all spelling and grammar are correct by checking style against AMA guidelines and client’s guidelines.
Keep a Style Sheet and/or Checklist for each product, noting anomalies and deviations from AMA style and the correct way to style/spell frequently occurring terms.
Maintain an open and free dialogue with their product team, especially Copywriter and Account Executives to facilitate the free flow of ideas, more complete agreement on issues, greater accuracy, and a stronger team.
Build relationships and fosters communication among team members, including Copy, Traffic, and Account to help achieve the efficient flow of materials.
What You Need To Succeed:
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in a related field, with industry experience.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Strong working knowledge of current AMA style required and familiarity with FDA regulations regarding pharmaceutical advertising.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with digital media (navigating web/device interfaces), experience with digital routing systems.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
