The Business Analyst is a highly motivated contributor and an essential part of the Business Technology team providing functional and systemic analysis to clarify scope. The role will work closely with society business users and developers to help them translate non-technical needs into technical requirements to facilitate successful delivery of projects. The Business Analyst is an excellent communicator who writes well, speaks well, and most importantly, listens well.

The Business Analyst is accountable for identifying, assessing, and documenting end-user requirements in the form of user stories, use cases, requirements, business process mapping, and term definition and translating user requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for use by technology resources.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Facilitates and leads meetings with business and technology teams to identify, define, analyze, and record requirements.
  • Conducts and facilitates user acceptance testing of new capabilities/solutions being released to production.
  • Creates and maintains manuals and how-to documentation as needed.
  • Assists with triaging and prioritizing support tickets through collaboration with the technology team and occasionally resolving issues directly as needed/appropriate.
  • Participates in and/or manages consultant selections and outsourced effort, to providing additional breadth to technology team’s delivery capabilities.
  • Researches and analyzes issues. Summarize problem definition and potential solutions.
  • Assists and leads internal team meetings & provide direction to the development team.
  • Identifies test scenarios and assist with testing.

OTHER DUTIES
  • Adopt and utilize Agile (Scrum) project management methodology.
  • Anticipate the needs of the business and propose solutions that align with strategic initiatives.
  • Support the creation of plans and test cases.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:     

B.S. degree or equivelent experience                                                                                                                           

Experience:     
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business requirements gathering, documentation and implementation (including development of use cases, test cases, workflow development, data mapping, etc.).



Certifications:                        
PMP and/or Scrum Master/Product Owner helpful, but not required.

    • Proficient Microsoft Office suite, Asana or a similar project management tool. Familiarity with Zendesk, AWS, and SharePoint a big plus.
